How to price a white label product

A simple way to price a white label product so it sells, pays for the next order and still feels fair to your audience. With real numbers from the Smart Cooling Towel.

The question every creator asks first is “what should I charge?” Here is the way we think about it, with a real product.

Start from the landed cost

Landed cost is what a unit costs you by the time it is in your hands. Not the factory price. The factory price plus shipping, plus duties, plus the branding setup spread across the order.

Say the factory price is $4, shipping and duties add $1.50, and setup adds $0.50 across the order. Your landed cost is $6. That is the number that matters.

Then work backwards from the shelf

The Smart Cooling Towel sells at $27.90 on smarttowel.shop. That is a price the market already accepts for a well made cooling towel with a brand behind it. If you white label the same towel, that is your reference point. Price near it and let your audience and your story do the rest.

A simple rule that holds up: landed cost times three to four is a healthy retail price for a physical product you sell direct. It leaves room for the platform fee, the payment fee, the occasional free unit, and a second order.

Do not price for the first order

The first order is the expensive one because the quantity is small. If you price to make a fat margin on order one, you will be too expensive. Price for the margin on order three, when the quantity is up and the unit cost is down. Order one is about learning what sells.

Bundles change the maths

Two products in a box with one label design sell for more than the two apart, and cost you almost nothing extra. A Day and Night Cream pair at a bundle price feels like a gift. Two separate jars feel like a purchase.

What we will tell you

When you fill in the quote form, you get the factory price, shipping options and an estimate of duties for your country. From there the landed cost is one sum. Read how white labelling works for the full process.
